HDINEAGROS S.A. commercializes bananas to the local exporters such as: BONANZA FRUIT CO., BANANAS EXCHANGE, FORZAFRUT S.A. and ISBELNI, whom distribute the fruit to the European, American, Russian, Chilean, Argentinean market, among others. Annually, Ecuador exports approximately 245 millions of boxes with bananas. HDINEAGROS S.A. will contribute in 2007 with around 0.18% of it (455.000 boxes of bananas). Guadua Cane: Starting in 2006, HDINEAGROS S.A. began the 250 hectares (has). sow project of guadua cane, from which 245 (has) are from Brave Cane (Angustifolia Kunt Guadua), and 5 (has) of Giant Bamboo (Dendrocalamus), in the Hacienda “Rio Siete”, located in the Ponce Enriquez canton. These varieties differ by its longitude, durability, time maturity, wood production by hectare and applicability. The Angustifolia Kunt Guadua and Dendrocalamus contribute to the socio-cultural, environmental and economical development. Socio-Cultural Development The way that the guadua has penetrated direct or indirectly in almost every sphere of the regional life, deserves attention and the right treatment to guarantee its permanence in the long term. The physical-mechanical properties of the guadua make its shaft have several uses. The inhabitants of the coast and orient zones use it especially for housing, kitchen utensils, musical instruments, bridges, canals, aqueducts, pitches, etc. Environmental Development.
