The growth in the construction sector in Ecuador –at the end of the sixties-, was in its peak and demanded good quality steel, therefore the ACERIAS NACIONALES DEL ECUADOR S.A. ANDEC was created on October 19^th, 1969; the company installed the first Ecuadorian laminating plant, to supply these materials to the local market.

ANDEC S.A. joins the construction sector to deliver excellent stock products, used in important engineer projects that contribute to the urban develop of the country. 

Since 1986 the ANDEC S.A. products have the Quality Certification given by the Ecuadorian Institute of Normalization (INEN). Since 1994, ANDEC S.A. has been impelled by the compromise to keep leading the market with guaranteed products and a committed human team, to obtain the Quality Insurance Certification ISO – 9002:1994; on February 22^nd 2001, several changes in the production processes and execution techniques inside the plant were imposed to reach this goal.

On July 31st 2003, the ANDEC S.A. – FUNASA family got the ISO 9001:2000 Certification to the Procedures Quality System. To all this achievements reached by ANDEC S.A., the qualified hand work, techniques, appropriate technology and handle of the residual resources have to be added; all this make the company the first steel industry in Ecuador with International Quality Certification.

ANDEC S.A. has an area exclusively dedicated to the surveillance of the ISO 9000 that permanently realizes internal inspection to maintain the quality system and deliver highly trustable iron to its clients and distributors.

In 2005, ANDEC S.A. incorporates the FUNASA branch as a division in charge of the fusion of steel, to optimize its growth by taking advantage of its resources.
